Showreel
Here is a short showcase of the kind of work you can expect to find here!
Here are all the animations I have created so far!
‘Far Out’
A queer, sci-fi comedy adventure by LSquaredTheatre set in a future where Earth is no longer habitable and it's people must search the vast expanse of space for a new home.
I created animations for this production, which gives the audience a visual representation of what the crew mates observe from the cockpit of their space shuttle, via a large projector screen at the rear of the stage.
About Time - An Animated Poem
This was my Final Major Project for my final year of university.
'About Time' is a 3-minute animated poem exploring the concept of time - how it passes us by - how we use/misuse what limited time we have left.
“Time’s always high on the list of mysterious things and i think that’s why it continues to be an infinite source of inspiration for writers and artists and we see it so often explored in film and television as well. My take on time in this poem considers how we tend to interact with it in our everyday lives, often to our own detriment.”
- Chantelle Argent, writer of poem ‘About Time’.
Sands Of Time
Here is one of my proof of concept animations for my ‘Final major project’ at university.
It depicts an hourglass showing the process of aging as the sand falls.
Theatrical Theoretic
Here is one of my proof of concept animations for my ‘Final major project’ at university.
It depicts people mindlessly entering/exiting a movie theater.
This relates to the idea of life being a movie - a narrative already created by an otherworldly source - we are simply acting out this pre-conceived reality.
‘The Wall’ - A Solent Green Sketch
This was created in my second year of university, in which we were tasked with animating a 1-minute sketch for a cartoon series within the university called ‘Solent Green’ which is a hotel filled with strange characters and events.
My contribution to the show was based around the security at the entrance to Solent Green, and how head security guard ‘The Wall’ acts as a one-man-army against troublemakers.
M&M Lip Sync
This animation was created as a test to practice animating characters speak with lip syncing.
This was created using a piece of software called ‘Papagayo’ to help sync different mouth positions to exact frames.
Animation Techniques -
’Can’ you leave & Flowergirl
Here are two short animations I made during my second year of university, in which I was tasked with being able to convey a short narrative to the viewer with expressions and body movements only.
‘Truman Show’ Animatic
In my second year of university one of my tasks was to choose a scene from a film and create an animatic version.
I chose the bathroom mirror scene from the film ‘Truman Show’.
Mushroom - The Gathering
Here is a small video showcasing various effects used within After Effects, including:
-Green screens
-Masks
-Stabilize
Arcade Claw Machine -
3d Animation
This was one of my 3d animations created in my first year of university. I was tasked with choosing any kind of object with complex components and animating it.
I decided to go with the iconic arcade machine, creating a sequence of the the joystick moving the crane over the top of an object, picking the object up, then depositing it into the prize corner.
This was created and animated in Blender.
Pearly Gates - 3d Animation
A short 3D animation showcase I made during my first year of university.
It was made as an homage to Kobe Bryant who had passed away recently at the time of creation.
Made in Blender.
